Tesoro Pantera

snoop & scoop

New member
Anyone have any info on the Tesoro "Pantera"? How does it compare to todays units? Thanks.

Howdy scoop

I have had a Pantera for about a month now, I can't say much about it as I have only went on one hunt with it and played around with it in my coin garden. It has been raining here every other day now for a couple of weeks it seems. I havent had too many days between rains to get out with it much, but hope to be out with it soon.So far it looks like a very good detector and the two tone audio works well. I played around with the notch control and it works as it should, sounding off with a low tone on nickles, but some newer style pulltabs still sneek thru. The high tone I set to break in tone on a zinc penny with a warble sound, then high tone on a solid copper penny/dime. I really like it,and it seems to be very sensitive to low conductor targets such as nickles and gold, but no gold with it yet! This detector is not for everybody as it is an old machine that was first produced in 1991. Mine is in excellent used shape and I am very happy with it. Later.........Hombre
