I got up early this morning and was at the site before daybreak to beat the heat. Too early, I had to wait around about 15 minutes to be able to see. The first coin that I dug was 1940 wheat penny. It was ever bit of 10 inches deep. I wanted to take a picture but it was not light enough to get a good picture. I kept the discrimination set low (9 o'clock position) and was able to run full sensitivity without any chatter from EMI. I didn't find any silver but I was finding coins that were close to the date of being a silver coin. I found 5 nickels. I really get a kick out of finding nickels for some reason. They were deep and hit hard. A couple of old ones (1964, 1959). The 1965 quarter and a 1966 dime were almost old enough to be silver. Wheat pennies 1945, 1924, 1940,1944. I also found a military pin. I was quite pleased with what the Outlaw was able to find, because I've been over this same ground with other detectors several times. Most of the coins that I dug today were deep, but I was still getting a real good audio tone on them.
In the first picture see if you can see anything that's different other than a 9 inch ProPointer being flush with the ground and a 1924 wheat in the pile of dirt.
I'm really enjoying detecting with the Outlaw. It has a sweet sounding audio tone and it goes super deep.
