Tesoro out of parts?

Bling

New member
if Tesoro is out of parts to build the Tiger Shark, how can they do warranty work.????

Huh? Where is all of this coming from? As a 20 year member of the electronics service community, dealing mostly in legacy support I can tell you there is no such thing in regard to semiconductors. I can still source DAC's 20+ years out of production. Can you be more specific on the part they claim they are out of? Perhaps this is just a bad rumor, or perhaps there is just a lead time for a specific part they need from the manufacturer of the part. That happens from time to time. But the lifetime warranty is solid because even if 50 years go by and the parts are all long gone, the warranty offers 'replacement of unit' at thier discretion.. meaning you would get the newest of the lineup comparable to your old one.

Be specific about this so it can be examined properly, otherwise you are doing damage to the company itself by posting scare threads like this.

i dont know what part they cant get,but have you noticed you can not buy a new Tiger Shark anywhere! the dealers iv talked to say there is 1 part that the co that used to make them ,went out of business.and there are no TS's avalible.but they did say they are working on a new supply'r for the part.hope so TS is too good a unit to go byby!

I have heard rumor that they were having a hard time getting the waterproof coil connector for the water machines.
They might drop it and go with non-interchangeable coils.
That might be a good thing as the Tiger Shark I had a few years ago would false every time fresh water hit the connector.
No biggie but still a problem and an annoyance when hunting where the connector was just above the water line.

Tesoro is a very reputable company and have a long track record of customer satisfaction.
I dont ever see that changing.

Speaking from personal experience, I think you would all be shocked at the amount of waterproof interconnects available on the market. They are probably just shopping through a few looking for the best choice. They order 'samples' and go from there. If this is the part you speak of, it would be irresponsible of them to simply find one that fits and call it a day. It needs to be the best blend of fitment, connection resistance, cycle life, cost, etc.

Honestly guys.. Good engineers don't design around one-time parts supplies and the only thing proprietary about Tesoro parts is the processor code, and they obviously won't have any supply issues with that ;) . They already planned for legacy support in these situations. Best to just relax and put this thread to bed. They will handle it.
