I am not a dealer but have been in the hobby more than 25 years mostly swinging Tesoro detectors, I am not trying to say anything negative about the person on the other forum but I see he only has 5 posts. This is quite a comment to make especially for a newbie to the forum. I know a number of dealers around the country and I have personaly asked a few of them over the years if Tesoro is comming out with a new detector/detectors. There comment is I don't know and if I did I can not tell you, matter of a fact one of the dealers told me if he knew they were comming out with one he wouldn't even tell his own brother. Tesoro is very tight lipped, if and when they come out with something new we can be certain it will be perfected before it hits the dealers. I think the fella is just trying to get something going stating he said they told him they are comming out with a new detector ithat should be released in 2010. Maybe someone at the factory did tell him that I just find it hard to believe, no hard feeling to the poster if you are reading this. Steve.

I called Tesoro the other day and a source there confirmed that there is a new Tesoro Detector in development and should be released in January 2010. I asked if it was a TID and the person had no comment. I belive that it is a new TID machine. I guess we'll see!

i spoke with james gifford a few days ago and asked the same question.... are we going to see a new tesoro detector in the near future? his answer was that they don't have anything in the development stage at this time. it doesn't mean they don't have a new machine in the works, but i'm sure there is something on the drawing board at tesoro to compete with the other manufacturers new machines. we all know you don't stay on top with older technology in the metal detector business............roger
For as long as I have had the privelage of working with Tesoro, they NEVER release intended delivery dates of anything! They wont say boo until the units are going out the door. There are always tons of rumors, but I can guarantee you they would never come and and publicly state there will be a new machine in 2010.

I own 3 Tesoros, and they're all beep and digs. Each one is great, and each one has it's purpose. I, too would like to see a better TID machine from Tesoro, but for now, my X-terra 70 by Minelab is a light-weight, awesome TID machine. It would be hard to beat. I'm happy with all my toys.
