Tesoro Lobo

My brother-in-law has just moved to the Sun City, AZ area and wants to know what metal detector is commonly used in that area. I was told by a
person who lives in that area that the Tesoro Lobo is a favorite mid range detector in that area. The area has hot rocks and this detector is able to discriminate
these hot rocks out and can also be used for coin and relic hunting.
Also noticed that there are two different Lobo's-the Brown & Gold Lobo Super Traq and the Grey Lobo Super Traq. What is the difference?.

From you hunters in AZ, can you agree with this and what else do you have to add.

I would like to see it discing out hot rocks , thats a good quality

Don't forget its also a Gold prospecting detector!
Other than maybe models sold outside the US the only differences I'm aware of is the early model Lobo (not a Super Trac) and the later version which is the Lobo ST.

Lobo SuperTraq is what I would recommend,@#%&()*! is a good local source for gold hunting areas. The LST is now available in 2 colors but there is no difference but the color. The early LST had an annoying battery tone at start up, which was later changed.

2wheeldevil,

Both colors are the same machine & the Super LOBO is a good VLF machine for nugget hunting or coinshooting.

Most PI metal detectors go deeper but are more expensive.

If your brother-in-law wants to go nugget hunting he needs to be sure to join a club with claims, so he learns the ropes legally.

Hardrockminer, can you give me more info on this "claims" and what are the names of the Mding clubs in the area.

2wheeldevil,

I sent you a PM with some local clubs............Did'nt want to break any site rules by listing them here. As I doubt any are Find's supporters or sponsors.
