Tesoro Lobo Supertrack or is there a different Lobo ?

I'm thinking of getting a used one and wonder if it would do for coin hunting.
I know its more a gold detector but how is on regular hunting ?
Should I think of a different Tesoro ?
The used Lobo I can get at a good deal.
Thanks for the input !

The original Lobo was manual ground balance and not nearly as good as the Lobo ST. Either one will work ok as a coin hunter and both have a pre set GB in the disc mode . IMO one of the Micro Max models would be a better choice for coin hunting.

At one time I was thinking seriously about getting a LST, and there was one of the pros out there that tested all the top of the line machines from all makers back when the XLT's, and CZ's were the top selling high ends. The LST was one of the deepest machines in the world on a coin. A friend of mine bought a pre LST Lobo just for it's great coin hunting, and relic ability , and different frequency in open seeded hunts. He swears it's a much better coin machine than gold machine. The LST was built to be a much better gold machine than the Lobo, but still be a good all around machine. They are both fine detectors.

Hey garwha that's really good news to hear! Maybe I'll take my LST out on a coin hunt where I want a deep detector. Thanks.

Garwha thanks for the info on the LOBO.!
