Tesoro Lobo ST battery wires...........

Hi guys I just purchased a second hand Lobo ST which looses battery connection upon bumping or when changing batteries. I'm sure its a dry joint issue and can be fixed. I was wondering if this was a common thing with the lobo st and would something like this cost much to fix? There seems to be no easy way into the control box as it is totally sealed to take a look at the problem. I did manage to get the machine to work and am impressed with its abilities. I would like to try and resolve the issue instead of sending the unit back as I'm sure the Lobo and I would do well together. Thanks in advance for any input!!
Cheers!

Sending it back to Tesoro to get the loose connection fixed might be your best deal. They check out the complete unit to make sure it's working like new.

If you're not familiar with that particular detector you'll never be sure if it's working up to its full potential.

Check the battery holders before you send it in

The two battery holders each of which take four AA's are hooked up with clips like those that connect to a nine volt battery. It's a pretty tight fit to get both holders in there and about the only way to get the battery clips on the holders correctly is to cross them over the clip that comes from the left coast to the battery holder on the right and vice versa.

It's really easy to open up the detector

I want to thank you guys for your tips and advice.......thank you. Props go to Lyle78 as you were spot on with the info you gave me. The connector from the batteries to the circuit board was a bit loose so I pulled it apart put some air through both ends and reconnected the wires again nice and snug with everything running smooth. So thanks again to those who responded as I'm a happy Lobo ST owner. Air tests today blew me away in all metal mode, sensitive and deep. Discrimination mode is also pretty good and target separation is very nice. Love the tones it gives and runs smooth in heavy mineralized ground at max sensitivity. Ground reads about 80 on my AT Pro. Hitting an old gold field tomorrow so that is the real test. Be safe guys and take care out there!
Cheers!
