Tesoro Golden Umax

Who uses the golden umax? I don't hear or see much about it in the forums. Thinking of trying the new tone golden umax. I have a vaquero and I like it alot, it will stay with me as long as I can swing a detector. Thanks.

I have the old tones Golden. Have no problem hearing the 4 different tones. I had a Vaquero and the Cortes, sold both because they don't have tones. The Golden is a keeper.

I would like to have golden umax that is water proof that would be a hit! The umax design with the tones for fresh water, Thumbs up!

I really like mine a lot. It's a keeper.

Had thought of getting the Tejon (you know, like a hoarder...just to have it) but if I were to buy a 2nd Tesoro it would be the Golden u-Max as I'm basically a park and beach hunter.

I understand the new edition doesn't run into each other with tones and notches like the old one did and Tesoro listened to the consumer..

Many like the older version and do well with it but wasn't my cup of tea and will stick with the 1 notch and 2 tones of the Golden Sabre 11 as it like gold rings and audio variances really help telling a tab from a gold ring and for me cuts down the odds to dig or not.

No detector can possibly tell a gold ring from a tab all the time...(only a shovel will do that) but thru experimentation and time in the field along with learning the audio Golden Sabre 11 gives me a lot more info to dig or not and certainly cuts down the odds for land hunting where the tabs abound and rings are few....

The Royal Sabre has kept me from getting a Golden. Dan, do you know if the Royal is like the Golden II? It has two tones and notch, also.

I've been owned and used a Golden uMax almost continuously since 2004. I sometimes sell them to fund another purchase that I get all hot and heavy for, but I always replace it. This year I had traded my Golden for an ATPro. When I was through with the Garrett I sold it and purchased a new Golden. The dealer thought he was selling me a standard tone unit and I though I was buying the standard tone unit. It turned out that I had bought one of the new tone detectors.

It was a great mistake. I really enjoy the new tones, much better than the standard tone model. I won't repeat a lot I've already posted about it, but I think it is sweet. It allows me to focus on the target ranges that I'm after (gold jewelry) and I can go through a spot and cherry pick through all those signals first, then come back, usually with my F5 and work through the remaining stuff I left behind.

Very happy owner. Just wish I had more time to hunt it.

I have a vaquero and wish it had tone id I also have a at pro which I like but am curious for a golden umax , what's the approximate depth of the average finds with the golden? Just a few days ago I got a silver dime at 7 inches with the at pro and the vdi was holding steady over each sweep.

I can't help you with depth numbers.

I only run the Cleansweep coil on mine and the Cleansweep coil is a shallow coil.

I'm between a golden umax or the atpro which I know is water proof but which has better tones cause my hearing is not the best thanks for the help, HHH.
