Tesoro Golden uMax wins silver

Took the Golden out last weekend and sniffed out a few silver. The Golden finally broke the silver coin barrier. My signature is accurate. Not bad for under 2 months with the Golden.

That's impressive! Way to go.

The Golden

Very nice hall, i would be happy with that.

The golden is more sensitive. Especially on small targets. Regarding is it better= depends

the knows on the golden can be remobed and put some "o" rings on the shafts and then shove then knobs snug against the "o"rings this will make them hard to move and keep them from shifting easily.
You need a small allen key. Not sure what size it is off hand.

how do u remove the knobs to do that jim?allen key I'm guessing and it doesn't break warranty right?lol

Great tip, im going to do this for all 3 of my Tesoros

1/4 " diameter O-rings will do the trick. The control knob should have an allen or straight blade set screw. Note the position of the pot before removing so that you get it back in the same spot. Best bet is turn it all the way clockwise or counter clockwise before removing.

I had an old pack of various O-rings i got from harbor freight a while back and did it to my Silver uMax and Compadre today, this works grea for me since I pretty much leave them on Iron when I do discriminate. There have been a few times I bumped it unknowingly as I hunted only to find out later I was hunting in higher discrim. Thanks again so much for the tip :)
