I'm blown away that those gold rings in your video came in below the foil sports drink cap on the conductivity scale. My test show that the rings (mostly 52 - 55 on the conductivity scale) that I tested came in between foil sports drink cap (49) and nickel (57). They were really small gold rings that I used in my test. I'm going to have to lower the discrimination even further after seeing your video.

The blue foil VDI is 0 with an occasional 1, the small gold ring VDI solid 4, the larger gold ring VDI 6 with an occasional 5, very close to the sport foil, and the sport foil VDI solid 6. The larger 14K gold ring reads a VDI of 28 - 29, and falls into the zinc penny tone on the Golden. I really didn't think there was going to be much, if any, distinction between the targets when I began this test. Thanks for the idea buddy. I imagine ground conditions would play a role in the adjustment and result, but as we all know even the slightest change in threshold or tone can mean success.

Another fantastic video on the Golden! Makes my day just watching your videos and to think that they are G rated even-AWSOME....

That's the first time I heard the new tone Golden, thanks for the vid! I've been using my Goldens for a while and I didn't know the notch knob with notch filtering off does that. I always have mine around the 1 o'clock position because that's where common pulltabs notch out, depending on the GB.

It's great because you can run it with Disc at min, get maximum depth, and also ID smaller gold that fall in the foil range. Always nice to have an edge.
