I was dragging a little this morning from being out late last night watching a high school football game. I haven't gone detecting much in the last month or so because of the heat and dry hard ground. We just got plenty of rain and some cooler temperatures but I was in no hurry to get out in it. I ate a nice breakfast and decided to hunt in close today, so I went to a nearby park that I've hunting to death to put in a few hours of swing time in to loosen up the ole muscles some. I found plenty of clad coins. I had the Golden set up to notch out beaver tail pull tabs because the place is loaded with them and I didn't feel much like digging every target today. I got a great high tone signal and with the way it sounded I thought it might be a large silver ring or a half dollar. I popped a nice 7.03 gram 950 silver pendant that was around 3 or 4 inches deep. I looked for the chain in the surrounding area but had no luck. What surprises me is the fact that I have grid hunted that same area where I found the pendant several times and didn't find it. I guess it's hard to hunt a place completely out.
