Even though its an old detector I have heard good reviews on it. Has anyone used this model? and would you be able to use it on heavily mineralized ground? I know they upgraded this model in 2001 and I also know they no longer make the Eldorado. I was told that the Vaquero has taken over its place.
Cheers!

The last VLF/TR Disc. Tesoro was the Mayan, and the Eldorado was a replacement or the Inca. It was a VLF Discriminator.

The old Eldorado was one of my favorite Tesoro's and I was pleased when it came out to replace the Inca. It was produced from Nov. '86 thru April '91, but the Bandido, which made its entry in March of '90 was really the 'replacement' for the 'original' Eldorado.

The progression was from the Eldorado to Bandido, then Bandido II, next the Bandido

Been following these forums for quite awhile. Don't read much on the original Eldorado. It's the only one I have and use it for the past 18 years or so.
Still works!:detecting: The photo is from 9/30/07. Just a dime and a couple of pennies. The large round piece is one of those that make your eyes go wide when you turn over the plug and there it sits. :yikes: No coin though.
Thanks for the good reads and information.
