Even though I had two and loved them both I sold them looking for something different.I still think it is the best grab and go little metal detector.
Sort of like a little big detector.
I forgot ? were there two different types and which one was better the older one or the newer one.
thanks-thinking of getting another if it pops up
David

You want this one. It's the Eldorado (uMax style).

There where only two Eldorado detectors that I know of. One is the newer uMax style (plastic) control box and the other one is the older large (metal) box type that was attached under the rod.

The one in the picture is the newer one.

Just a personal opinion here, but the terms ":grab-and-go" and "turn-on-and-go" generally are applied to the more simple-to-use models that have a factory preset Ground Balance and are ready to use (hopefully) in most hunting conditions. Since the Eldorado's feature a manual Ground Balance function to get peak performance, that takes them a step out of the "quick-to-use" category, at least as we came to associate it.

Now, since you referred to the two you had as being "little", I will presume they were the latter models in the

I'd suggest you contact Tabman and nab his Eldorado offer ... before someone else or I do!!

Hold your horses. I guess I should have said, "you want one like this one", not "you want this one". :)

This Eldorado is not for sale. It's in near mint condition and I like it a lot.

Monte you're partly responsible for me getting it in the first place.

I guess I need to be more awake when I read some posts. I thought you'd found a replacement and were parting with the hard-to-find Eldorado.

The search continues .....

Like you've said so many times before, the Eldorado is a good one. I've bought and sold two of them prior to this one. Every time I sold one, I'd start missing it and the more I learn about detectors, the more I appreciate the Eldorado. This particular Eldorado is the best one I've owned yet. I'm going to try to hold on to it, because more and more people are finding out how good they are and don't want to part with them. I may one day part with my Bandido II uMax, because I like the audio tone on the Outlaw better and it does everything the Bandido II uMax can do. The high tone on the Bandido II uMax is just a little too high pitched for my ears.

Monte.
Hope I am not out of line but I heard you were not doing well earlier.
I said a few prayers for you and I am one lucky son of a gun with prayers-God bless you-it's always great to read your comments.

David, the simple answer is No, I am not as healthy as I once was. I sure wish I were as I would then do many things differently. Maybe we are a lot like the coin counts and quantity we once enjoyed? It used to be that coins were lost and as the days and weeks and months and years progressed, more and more coins were lost. At some point most of our older parks and schools were 'infected' with a vast amount of silver coins and Indian Heads and many other older desired coins. When I get asked by newcomers to this great sport I tell them that while some were missed here and there, for the most part .... they are just gone.

So, as we age and ripen we get little encounters and build-ups of ailments and injuries that, like coins in the older-use parks, seem to accumulate. Then, like a good old park with ample silver and oldies, soon .... we are just gone. I refuse to give up, however, and forget about the "good times" I had, like a park that used to entertain a lot of picnicking families and kids at play. Some old parks just fall into decay, but others still do their best to hang in their and do what they can to help entertain people.

I have often pondered the idea of just giving up on the hobby. Just remember the 'old days" and then go fishing or plunk down and nap. Instead, I hang in there, doing all I can to try and enjoy the time I have left and try to help people learn more and enjoy a great hobby. I live in pain and with my limitations, but I still refuse to "give up."

Diabetes .. Not under control, but I think more and more about doing better. Four shots and a couple of pills each day help.

High Blood Pressure .. Pills help so I hang in there and just try not to over-do. I know some days are worse than others when I need to bend down for a recovery and then stand up. :stars:

Blood clot .. It only goes from my groin to my left ankle and as long as it behaves itself, I wear my compression socks, and I keep on my blood thinners, the more I tolerate it.

Next week, when I get back home to Oregon (I'm in Utah now to finish a road trip and do a seminar on Saturday), I'll go to the hospital and have them look at the nasty infection on my left foot. I've been treating it but walking is painful now (has been for a couple of months) and I might have to have some serious attention and just do a little fishing for a few weeks while it mends.

Injuries from the fall off the ladder are mended (fractured skull and four broken ribs), but the hearing loss in my right ear and total loss of my sense of smell are depressing.

Unrelated, sort of, I guess I need to work at loosing a bit of weight, too.

Still, I know I have these and other distractions, but others have their bothersome health issues as well. All we can do is tough them out, think positive, and get out detecting as often as we can. It helps get your mind off some of the challenges in life and helps us. As it does, we can strive to help others and that, too, is some of the best medicine we can take.

Well, there are some of my health issues. Others, I know, are also not doing well either, and I certainly trust you are not in that group. Stay well, be healthy, and get out detecting as often as you can!

I'm getting up there.72yrs but overweight.
5'7" but 212 lbs-don't have high blood pressure or sugar or anything but did a stupid thing early in the spring.
I had some roofing delivered and I tore off the garage (two Car) roof and threw the shingles into a big rented dumpster. Then hammered about a thousand nails down -no problem.
Then I carried up the ladder 23 bundles of shingles - I think they weighed 80 or 85 lbs apiece.
I stacked them on the back of the garage and after the 17th or 18th bundle I felt a nice sharp pain in my knee climbing up the ladder.I thought it would work out.WRONG!
The knee bothered me more everyday and I finished the roof but it took me two days.I thought just like everything else it would go away after awhile but it didn't and after three weeks I went to the doctor.I was mislead because I used a knee brace and at times I thought it was going away.Torn meniscus- and I had to have that darn arthroscopic knee surgery. Other than that everything is fine.
Never felt a strengh loss in my body until after 65 yrs-still there but not like before-
I'm going to try a diet and try to get down to 160 or close but I have to wait until I get back from Maine.---Lobsters,clams,lobsters,clams and more lobsters, clams.
Right now I do a lot of canoe fishing on hemlock or canadice lake-both lakes were surrounded by cottages in the 1800's and sold to the city only. Now there is no trace of cottages at all for years it has been all overgrown-bought by the city of Rochester for water supply-no motors over 10hp allowed-If I don't sell my sidewinder

Hey Monte-I won't
we are leaving the 19th and driving up to freeport which is about a 6 to 7 hr drive. We go up every year.Beautiful scenery around there with boat harbors all over the place.
I see you still like that Bandido II
