Hi to everyone out here this morning..How do you guy's like using this detector.
I myself had one and I have been hating myself for selling it.It was in really clean
condition and wish I had not sold it..

Think everyone who has owned one feels the same as you.
But, will you pay the high prices they are asking for them, just to own one again?
I didn't find mine to have any better depth than any other average Tesoros, so for me , no I won't buy another when I can get similar performance using other Tesoros.

It's my favorite Tesoro product. I have mine fitted with the Clean Sweep coil, and it does wonders at athletic fields and large open areas. I personally think it hits harder and is more pronounced than several of the other 5 pin tesoros I have tried. I won't be selling mine.

I say 'experienced' because I have been a loyal Tesoro owner and user since mid-'83. I was a Tesoro Dealer since '83 until a coupled of years after the Eldorado was around so I have owned and used several. Naturally, I have put the Eldorado's, both the big-box original and the last offering in the µMAX (microMAX) housing to the test against other Tesoro's and personal favorites of mine from competitive detector makers. I used to enjoy using the Eldorado more when I was doing either Coin Hunting or Relic Hunting in more open sites with a minimal amount of trash, ferrous or non-ferrous, when I would use the silent-search Discriminate mode but run it wide-open with zero rejection. I took advantage of the ED-180 Disc. range of acceptance and got better depth and performance with it than most other Tesoro models using the same size search coils.

But there is no 'perfect' detector from any manufacturer so I look for weaknesses as well insofar as how a model might or might not appeal to me. I have kept 2-4 or more detectors in my personal detector outfit since '71/'72, so in that case I was comparing the Eldorado closely to my favorite Tesoro models and one or two I used at the time that were tough competition in the slow-motion/quick-response category. Two of my all-time-favorites, from Tesoro or from any detector maker, are the Bandido II µMAX and Silver Sabre µMAX.

Using the search coil that I preferred to use for hunting the trashier sites where I spend most of my time, and those are dense iron debris-filled Relic Hunting sites, I found the other Bandido models, and I have the original Bandido and Bandido II as well at the time, were all quieter and handled the nails and other ferrous junk better than the Eldorado. So, for ME, the strength was running in the Threshold-based All Metal mode or at zero rejection in the silent-search Discriminate mode, whereas the other Tesoro's I had and used handled some of the nasty iron environment a little quieter and better overall.

I keep one non-display detector and one visual TID unit in my vehicle at all times just in case I happen across a hit-it-now opportunity. That always-travel roll is shared by a Bandido II µMAX w/6" Concentric coil. That, and my Silver Sabre µMAX, are the Tesoro's that work best for me and my wants and needs, and they complement all the Target ID and Tone ID models I have from other detector makers.

In your case I would encourage you to try and find any source where you could handle any of the models you might be considering. The Eldorado, possibly, might be just the right detector for YOU? Only you can determine what you will be most comfortable with. But I do encourage you, or anyone who wants to be serious about this great sport, to think about owning and using at least two detectors that might complement each other in performance afield. You'll likely end up being more successful over time.

I have owned the Eldorado uMax and the Bandido 2 uMax. And in my area, found them close but the Bandido 2 to be a tad better in iron trash and a little deeper. Sold them both to concentrate more on the Vaquero because of the much better depth in my area. The Vaquero can see deep 3 ringers in my ground that the other two just cant. I have now pretty much went to the Tejon, not because of a huge performance gain over the Vaquero, but more for the added features like adjustable tone, a trigger switch and a second disc circuit. Personally, for the used prices of these machines, the Vaquero is the deal to be had with nice ones going for $250.... sometimes less.

10.6 KHz, plus ability to shift slightly higher or lower with the frequency shift toggle to fight possible interference..

10.4 kHz in the center Frequency Switch position. If you get interference, you can off-sit the operating frequency to a lower-setting of 10.2 kHz or to a positive off-set of 10.6 kHz.
In all the time I used the last Eldorado version, I only needed to shift the operating frequency on two times of interference. Both times that feature came in handy.

I just bought one for 60 dollars .It looks good but was chatty . The tone was not smooth and I had to turn the sens way down but the temperature was in the teens when I was trying it . My vaquero acts up when it is cold . Hopefully it will quiet down in warmer weather . I threw a nickle and a penny on the ground and they sounded great .

Well you know, while you have the chance, ship it off to Tesoro with $50 and get a complete check-up and certification that its in tip top shape. Before its too late.
For $60.00 and $50.00, its still a great buy.

I played with it in the house after it has warmed up and it seems to work perfectly . The weather is suppose to warm up this week . maybe i'll get a chance to try it .
