Very interesting, thanks for the vids. The Bandido II uMax sounds identical to my Cutlass II uMax and to me has the best sound of all the detectors you showed.

Thanks for posting these. I only have the Compadre, but plan on having more Tesoros someday. I listened to them all, and honestly have to say the outlaw has the most pleasant tone to my ears.

I think I like the bandido and the golden as my fav's for the tones, thank you for that. Your coils look so good too for some reason, are they brand new? Looks like you washed, waxed and armor-alled them!!!:crylol:

Yes, the Outlaw has a pleasant audio tone to listen to. It's my understanding that Rusty Henry worked with it until he got it just right.

I need to do a video showing how the Outlaw audio will crackle and pop at discrimination break points. It's really neat.

The Bandido II uMax is a high tone screamer and makes my ears ring. It gets me excited to dig every time it sounds off over a good target.

The Eldorado is not bad to listen to. I forgot it had a audio tone that high.

The Compadre's audio tone isn't bad.

In the Golden uMax video - Starting from the left, it's sports foil cap, nickel, zinc penny and then quarter. This is the old tone Golden uMax.

I can move the sports foil cap up into the nickel gobble range by turning the notch width knob.

One is new. I bought it from Rusty Henry. The others are just well taken care of. I clean them with soapy micro fiber wash cloths that I found in automotive at Walmart.

They work great and last a longtime.

I think I had a seizure with the beeps! JJ they are super fast response time!

I like the tones given off by the Golden uMax over the different coins. Where is the disc knob set and what might iron sound like?

I have the old tone Golden uMax.

The discrimination was set to minimum. The lowest tone is the iron tone. I used the notch control knob to widen the iron range to include the sports foil cap. Anything above it and the nickel range is where most of the lost gold rings will 'gooble'. The second lowest tone (the one that gobbles) is the mid-foil/ nickel/gold range. The next highest tone is the pull tab and zinc penny range. The highest tone is silver rings, dimes, quarters etc.

To really get a feel how different they all are, do this.
Go back to the first post.
Start playing the first vid. Liisten for 5 sec.
Then while the first is playing start vid 2, listen again.
Then do the same for each of the rest of the vids.
Eventually you'll hear all the detectors playing in harmony.
with the Golden playing the lead instrument.................

I could detect with any of the tones, but prefer the Bandito II

Thanks again Tabman for the great videos, I learned my Cibola is a low tone model.

Great video. That Umax really has distinct sounds. How about a video of some samples of trash? I am curious now to learn more about that Umax.

Thanks Tabman.

Thanks everyone. I plan on doing a video showing how well the Tesoro Silver uMax can easily tell the difference between good targets (small gold rings/coins) from can slaw by slowly raising and sweeping the coil at a low discrimination setting that just has foil sports drink caps crackling and popping. The Silver excels in its ability to do this.

I would love to see this video. How accurate is this method?

Pretty accurate. The Silver does it better than any other detector that I've used. The Outlaw is real close. There's a lot of can slaw in the gold range. The digital ID readout detectors that I have used can only ID that the can saw is in the gold range. They can't distinguish very well or at all if it's can slaw or a gold ring. Also ED120 detectors do a better job at this than ED180 detectors do.

What is really nice is you don't have to use headphones, plenty of volume with just the internal speaker! Really like this feature during the hot season.
