Thank you. That helps a little bit. Happen to know of any others? How come you just can't find a lot on the DeLeon? Is it because a lot of people don't use one or because they are too busy finding things to post stuff?

This is the way I see it in regards to your question. Both the Deleon and Cortes were first marketed a bit late compared to most of the competition's TID machines. Both did and do compete against machines with true auto ground balancing versus preset on the Deleon and manual in all metal only, preset in discrimination. on the Cortes. The retail price is right in the range of the machines with the auto ground tracking. Also, the majority of Tesoro users are pretty solid beep and dig detectorists and many aren't convinced they need a TID machine. That said, one of my machines is a DeLeon.

It's one of my favorites which I use often and have done pretty well with it. The areas where I generally use it have mild ground and the preset gb works fine for me. I don't generally post pictures of my finds as most are the typical clad coins etc. and nothing all that unique. I have, however found several rings, other bits of jewelry and odd tokens etc. but haven't taken the time to post pictures.

All in all I like the DeLeon although I'd prefer that it ID'd copper pennies and dimes in their own notch like most other TID machines I'm familiar with. It does separate nickels and zinc pennies, but copper pennies and all clad and silver coins come up under the same ID segment and number. 99% of the time if you're pretty sure it's a coin you're going to dig anyway, but sometimes I'd just as soon skip pennies. I have found the ID to be quite accurate on coins, as accurate as I think one can expect from a machine's best guess and the weight of the D makes swinging it for hours a piece of cake. I've been satisfied with the depth and sensitivity and have no bad feelings about having added it to my arsenal. Hope this is helpful.

I just got one. I have not hunted with it yet, but have tested it. I really like the unit. I also run a X-Terra 70. I think they will be a good pair. The DeLeon is very easy to use and nice and light, Beale.
