Tesoro Deleon:tesoro::usaflag: Maiden Voyage:detecting:

I took the Deleon out for a spin today to see how well it worked. I first decided if it's a good target or not by listening to the audio tone before looking at the screen. The Deleon would be a great detector even without the screen, but it's nice sometimes to have a second opinion.:) My first good target was a 1907 Indian Head Penny and shortly thereafter I found a Sterling Lighter back up under a crape myrtle bush. It was for the most part toast, except for the sterling case. I also found a bunch of clad coins, a Memphis Rail Token, a couple of Wheat Pennies (1919, 1944), a Euro Dollar that was sandwiched between two zinc pennies, and a unknown case if some sort.:shrug:

So far, so good.:thumbup:

looks good so far , but I think will take some time to form a good assessment, just keep going

Hey tabman, did you order your Deleon with that coil shown in your post instead of the stock 9x8 concentric?

No, I'm just using a 8 inch coil off of another detector that I have.

That sheet of silver is so cool! You could easily sell that for more than scrap! :thumbup: In fact, it would be great if some old tinker in your town could wrap a modern Zippo's guts in it someway, or perhaps cut it in half and make two moneyclips? Whatever, its beautiful!...:drool: I bet you could get 100.00 for it easily...

I miss my Deleon (traded it for the F5 6 years ago). But mine had the spider spoked 8X9" coil. I thought they all did. My Bandido had the 8". Both great coils, though.

I'm using the 8 inch coil that I got off of my Bandido on the Deleon/:)

I've traded the spoked 8X9 coil and the 8"donut on my D back and forth and on other models. Not enough difference to greatly favor one over the other, but I tend to favor the 8" donut as it has less openings to hang on light weeds/brush etc. And, it seems on my detectors to possibly be just a tad deeper, but as I mentioned not enough to be a deciding factor.

I like finding those indian heads. Good detecting. I would think the 8" donut is probably lighter than the 9x8? I liked to use the 5.75" concentric coil on the DeLeon. Thanks for the post ....Z
