Tesoro DeLeon Mod?

Don't want to show my ignorance TOO much, but could the DeLeon have the same Mod done as the Cibola? I.E. the manual GB with trigger switch, etc? I would be really interested in doing that mod if it is possible...

I don't see why not. Just have to find the GB trimmer pot inside. Providing there is room where the toggle switch on the faceplate is
to accept a 10 turn pot, then just move the toggle switch below the handle. I have not seen the insides of the D to know for sure.

Well, I sent Keith Southern a message on the topic. Here was his response. Basically he stated the MBG would screw up your readings, etc. Any thoughts?

Hey man ! The DeLeon has 2 ground balance settings one for all metal and one for the disc side...The disc side is set at the factory then the I.D is calibrated to I.D properly. So if you change the ground balance it will miscue your readings on the meter..So I would'nt do it.. You can do the all metal side if you like and it wont hurt the I.D. ..It would be like a Cortes then..

Not really much you can do..Since they tie the I.D. and ground balance together..

not without a-lot of tuning eveytime you change the ground to keep the I.D working right..

yes all true doing this mod only works for am mode
touching the other pots screws up the meter readings and disc mode gb
then theres the trouble of getting the gb pot to fit on your face plate 2

That's what I thought too. Screw up the meter readings in Disc. mode.

Sorry for digging up this old thread, but...

the pot shown in the picture, is it for the all metal GB or is this to adjust the factory preset in disc/motion mode?
