Tesoro Deep Search VI (Circa 1980 VLF/TR) Info

Hi every one out there in Tector Land. I just bought a (Tesoro Deep Search VI) VLF/TR All I seem to have found out so far is that it is supposed to be their first production line model. With that said, I am open to ANY comments, info or anything regarding this machine. My thanks in advance if anyone has anything to share. I will send a photo as soon as it shows up in the mail.

I think the biggest question I have is, To get a little help understanding Discriminating Compensators or conpensation. I have read the phrase and assume its used in MD technology after 1980.The Deep Search VI was Giffords first production model upon starting TESORO. I am sure he either used it before while engineering for other companies. That, I don't know for sure. .Anyhow, I am trying to understand technology that is already 35 years old. A little catch up for me. Thanks to all who can help share any and all info

Man, thats just really nice to read. I have the 22nd Deep Search off Tesoros production line. Seriel# 0022 What is yours?

Sorry it took so long. Been out of town and don't own a laptop. The Deep Search VI that I now own must be quite a few down the line. The serial # on it is ( 3A-4615 ) I did get a chance to take it out and compare it to one my Garrett GroundHogs. It faired pretty well, seemed to be pretty much as sensitive and discriminated just about as well. It had to be retuned every time I hit a solid target though. I haven't used any DeOxit on it yet because it has absolutely no static and seems to ground balance quite well. Still, I think it might help a little. From what I was able to find on it, They said it could go quite awhile with out retuning. I know the designer had just left Bounty Hunter and went off on his own. I believe that by the time the Inca was developed that much had been upgraded engineeringly speaking.

I have one of these as well and I am looking to sell it. Can you guys provide where you found the SN?? Do any of you know what this is worth as I am trying to purchse a new model. It works great. I had to change over the batteries to 9v due to the person who had it before me let it corrode. Any help would be appreciated!
