Tesoro cutlass II umax

Scored a nice example the other day and was very impressed with the performance of this machine with the 8" coil on it. Seems to be similar to the newer silver umax. I hit most of my coins up to 7" I n my test garden and scored a few buttons around the trashy cellar holes... has anyone eles here used one ? The only thing I don't like about it is the the battery test when you turn it on......

The beeping battery test?

Try a Compadre, it is a solid tone louder than everything. ....

Cutlass II umax is the forerunner of the Silver umax. It has the solid tone battery check as did all (I believe) Tesoros of that vintage. Still a very good, usable detecot IMHO.

Looks like you got a beauty. Some say it's the same unit as the current Silver.
I have the Cutlass microMAX here and had it on loan to my son-in-law today, while I used my Bandido II microMAX... The Cutlass still works great, as do most older Tesoros.
