tesoro cortes

Hi, I have a tesoro cortes for quite some time now, although haven't been out with it for quite some time. Please can anyone help me. I've heard on the site that people who use the tesoro cortes can hear different sounds when metal detecting. However I only hear one sound, perhaps its me. Can anyone recommend the settings I should use, as I've only been digging up iron.

I have owned a number of Tesoro detectors but never a Cortes but if I am not mistaken putting it in sum mode will give you different tones. Now for the Tesoros with a single tone most of us old timers can hear differences in that single tone, not as prominate as a multitone detector but naunce / subtle difference in the tone. And once learned there is alot of information in that single tone.

SUM mode gives the tones, plus ID averaging while the switch is being pressed.
