Tesoro Conquistador or Silver Umax

I'm a Whites owner, but need another machine. I do not want the new White's Prium!!! Light weight..
I coin/jewerly hunt mostly, but do the beach (ocean).
Would the Silver Umax due me or the Conquistador.
Help!!!

Have a Silver. Great machine. Get a clean sweep coil for it and you'll have a lot of fun!!!

On wet salt (ocean) sand, neither one of those would do you. Other than Tesoro's pulse induction water detector, none of Tesoro's VLF machines were really built for wet salt sand. Tesoros with a Black Sand switch will handle wet salt sand better than those without one, but they won't perform "as well" as other brands' VLF and BBS detectors specifically made to handle wet salt sand.
On dry land in soil that isn't too highly mineralized where needing manual ground balance would be crucial, either one would do because they both perform equally well and to the same depth range; the choice between those two would be really based on the features you'd rather have or could do without.

When at the beach I do the dry sand. The Quantum goes to crazy in the wet sand...
I don't know how it would be to hunt without a screen showing what you found, depth.
I guess you get use to it....

Working in the dry sand either detector should perform good. You can turn down the sensitivity in wet sand and smooth it out some. It will lose some depth though. I tend to like the Conquistador a little more because of the threshold adjustment...but both are fine units. If you have any questions about the units feel free to give me a call.
