I've been out of town on a fishing trip and I couldn't wait to get home to do some dirt fishing. It's a lot more fun. You can't tell from the picture that the 1956 Quarter that I found was dug on a steep slope. I had trouble keeping my feet under me. The quarter wasn't but a couple of inches or so deep. It sounded really good.:) Hunting on steep slopes will wear you down fast, but it's usually rewarding. I also found several wheat pennies (1944, 1945, 1951), some clad and a old wedding band that was once gold plated before the rain sent me running for the car. I was using my Sharpshooter Coil.

Good find on the quarter Tabman. You must live in an area that wasn't hammered by this cold front.
I have found several wedding bands on old farmsteads over the years and they were all stamped 18k but they were gold plated. The plating was always gone leaving me with a brass ring.

Mighty fine looking quarter! I know what you mean about hunting those slopes, I have hunted several sledding hills. The sand ones are the worst!

Nice job as always Tabman. Gonna be cold but Ill be hitting a few spots this weekend.

Tab that looks so nice in the dirt like that , nice

Tabman, great work on the hillside! I have noticed around here most hillside I find lots of smashed bullets.

That quarter will buy you a gallon of gas. Silver quarters always buy a gallon of gas.

Great job on the silver and Wheats! We are fortunate enough to be spared the full wrath of winter unlike our brethren up North!

I can remember filling up my 65 Mustang at a Red Bird Service Station back in '71, the gas was 25 cents a gallon.
