Tesoro Cibola :tesoro::usaflag: Finds A Sterling Horseshoe In The Clover:detecting:

I almost didn't go this morning, because yesterday just about wore me out and my sinuses were acting up. I got to the site late and only detected for about 2 hours because I wasn't feeling too spry. I did manage to find a Sterling Pendant, 3 Wheat Pennies (1947, 1959, 1942), 3 Buffalo Nickels that were in pretty rough shape with only one with a readable date (1924), a Ronson Lighter with a patent date that expired June 12, 1952, a few clad coins with a couple of them being Jefferson Nickels.

My junk pile is real puny today.:)

The discrimination was set just to the point were foil caps discriminate out, full sensitivity, a slight threshold and the ground balance was set a little to the negative side on my modded Cibola. I did some experimenting with the discrimination setting for a little while. I lowered it to the point where nails just discriminate out, but I was finding too many tiny junk targets, so raised it back up to my normal setting. I'm convinced that's where it should be set for the type site that I'm detecting presently.

Having a good detector and experience is helpful in finding silver coins, but detecting in a good location is key to success. You can't find something that's not there.

Hey Tabman, great job as usual. I think any detector in your hands could find silver, even if it wasn't there! I wish I was your son, then you would have to take me to all those great spots and you would be obligated to buy my detectors!
