I worked the grassy areas along the edges of some sidewalks today. I was wearing down, but there was no silver for the today's hunt, so I pushed on. I was so tired that I was even thinking about moving the discrimination up high enough to knock out those rotten stinking Lincolns, but I'm glad that I didn't, because I would have passed right over those two 1943 War Nickels. Also if someone had dropped a gold ring I would have missed it as well. It's risky to run a high discrimination. At any rate, I didn't get skunked on silver today. I also found some unknown foreign coin (it was nearly 8 inches deep), a bunch of clad coins and a few Wheat Pennies (1957, 1920, 1952, 1940).
I'm closing in on a 100 silver coins for the year. I'm somewhere around 80 presently. I need to find another hot spot.
I've already found 5 gold rings. My goal is to average finding one every 60 days, all I need is one more to meet that goal for the year.
