Tesoro Cibola models?????

I am planning on getting one of these as my first machines, but I am a little confused. From all that I have read the Cibola's are very good. But my question is, are there one or two models of the Cibola? Ron's Dixie Discount metal detectors is listing two models, a Standard model and a High Tone Model. The High tone model is $15.oo more. But no other dealer lists two models. Are there two and if there is, is one better than the other?

Call Ron and talk to him about the difference. I have the standard tone and coupled with Jolly Rogers headphones it works well for me. Its all about which audio tone (frequency) suits your hearing the best. The reason the high tone costs more is simply due to the fact that it has to be modified from the original stock tone at the factory. Other than the audio there is no difference.

JS is right, it depends on your hearing. Most of us older guys have at least some hearing loss and can hear low tones much better than higher tones. I prefer an audio tone in the 400 hz frequency range, I can hear the variations in the audio much better than with higher frequencies. Younger folks with good hearing seem to prefer higher tones so your age and the state of your hearing will make a difference.

Thank you both for the info. I am turning 40 in two weeks and I guess I will get the standard model. My hearing is great but who knows what the future will bring. I am looking forward to getting my first machine.
