Tesoro Cibola Air Test

Just got My new Cibola. Air tests only about 8" on a quarter with sensitivity maxed out? Took it to the park and I can run max sensitivity all the time. Normal? My old White's Spectrum and Bounty Hunter 3300 are MUCH deeper doing air tests.

Air tests I performed on my Cibola were amazing!!! If you max out the threshold and sensitivity it would respond to a quarter at 16" and even dimes at 14". I was astounded even thought I don't believe air tests are all that conclusive. Don't worry about numbers, the machine is awesome!!!! You will enjoy it.

Thanks for the replies. I played with the Cibola more tonight and can now get a quarter @ 12". That's more like it! Can't wait to try it,but I'm in Oregon and it won't stop raining! The ground is like a wet sponge. I'm so depressed with the rain, I had to buy something so I bought a Tejon!:wiggle:

I tested my Cibola today and got also 12.5" on a quarter dollar (the only US coin I have)with max sens and threshold and min disc, but my cibola is a little instable at max.. some beeps by herself once in a while. Didn

I had a Cibola that also airtested pretty good when jacked up in max tuning, but if your in Oregon like me( I live in the Salem area) the airtest will have nothing to do with actual experience. With any detector 6 inches is pretty much the deepest in the HEAVY mineralized soil of the Willamette Valley and most of Pacific Northwest.
So I wounldn't put to much stock in those airtests unless you were going to Florida or somewhere with low mineralization.

I Live in Forest Grove. I have never lived in Roseburg. Detecting isn't that great since Compass detectors were built in Forest Grove. Everybody in the town had one! :detecting:

you were another guy that used to pop on here every once in a while...couldnt remember his handle, but I knew he was from Roseburg.:)

You think detecting isn't so hot in Forest Grove? Think the whole state of Oregon, at one time Whites, Discovery, Fisher, Teknetics, Compass, Bounty Hunter, were all located here in Oregon.
Back in the 70s young hotshot engineering designers for these companies TORE UP the state testing new designs.
It just means you gotta get sneaky and do the research, as as only an occasional easy find will turn up.

If you are truly geting those numbers I would suggest never selling your unit. Sounds like you've got yourself a HOT one!

I just got mine & right out of the box the Cibola air tested 12"-13" on a quarter in the air....just like my Vaquero did.....great UNITS!!!

Oh yeah did I mention only 2lbs :clapping:

...are nice, but they do little more than make you feel good about the money you've spent. How well something will do when maxed out in clear air is something, I suppose. However, its a whole different ball game out in the world, where mineralization, trash and iron infestation are the norm.
