tesoro and etrack

Pettit I have three Tesoro machines Compadre, silver Umax and a Vaquero and an E trac.
E trac Pros
Very powerful/deep
Very customizable with alot of really useable options
Will find stuff that everyone has missed
Two tone ferrous is great when needed
universal machine

E trac Cons
Expensive
Heavy
No good on (MICRO) jewelry
Hard to see screen in the sun

Tesoro Pros
Super light
Affordable
One 9 volt batt (most models)
Very fast
Great discrimination
Very fun
easy to use (most models)
The Vaquero and others are super deep
Tons of coils

Tesoro cons
I really have no complaints

If I am looking for a quarter that was dropped 100 years ago I use the E trac If I am looking to fill my pouch with clad and blast the tot lots/ looking for jewelry I grab one of the Tesoros

Thanks i got a etrack hopeing to use it on my older deep sites but what can i say i love me all my tesoros just wanted a deeper machine

The Etrac cannot really be compared (technology wise) to any of the Tesoros. The Etrac is in a whole different class!

""As the Tesoro's are"" they have a Language all their own and once learned they will find the goods as well . Not putting down the Etrac just stating that I have dug Tiny lead bullets at well over 12 inches with my Vaquero in my ground here in Texas and hit Silver dimes at 8 inches which is hard for a Vaquero in my opinion but none the less it did! Just recently dug a Golf shoe spike with it at 7 inches and almost did not find it if not for the Propointer and persitence the spike is about 1/4 inches in length Just Saying dont knock the Tesoro's they as well as the Etrac are in a "Class" by themselves

If your detecting style like in Europe to dig all targets when you need Tesoro with small coil, because its better in iron or for small items, but the rest is better in Etrac or Explorer. I use Tejon and Explorer or Etrac, but Tejon is used after I found something interesting with Etrac, because Etrac is deeper and better detector for most situation except small targets in allot iron.

Well i would never count any tesoro out i have a tejon silver and deleon they are all great machines and have paid for all of them with my finds and paid almost half the etrack with clad found from my deleon but i guess what sold me is i huted my local park hard i am good with all of my machines then i hunted it with 2 guys with the e track well they made a fool out of me digin dimes and coins that i couldnt touch at 8 plus there isnt a machine that is as easy to use as tesoro and i love mine just feel i missed alot of deep silver

they are different, people are deeply deluded when thinking that by spending more bucks on a machine they will get more finds. You can arrive at the same destination driving a fiat or a ferrari

I think the pros and cons have been pretty well covered, they compliment each other very well.

you will get more depth if you hunt in all metal, But again you will dig the junk....KEN

I have to lower the sensitivity in my areas here in E Texas, so most of my sites are in the 4-5" range without picking up all the large junk. Getting an Etrac would be like getting a deer rifle for quail for me.

a I dont think we can deny the ability of the minicabs at finding silver , but sometimes you need a difrent tool for a difrent job both great detectors I never got the minlabe because it was a bit heavy for me .

I agree with You as I sated they each have their place , never owned an Etrc but if someone wanted to give me one to try I would gladly except :detecting:

There is a pretty professional field test between the CTX 3030 and the Tejon. The Tejon surpassed the CTX by a edge.Look it up on you tube. There is a field test between the Tejon and Explorer. The Tejon surpassed the Explorer. It is on the net.Look it up.Some mining rock and minerals web site.

I have never used Etrack. I have Explorer II and Tesoro Golden uMax. Like mentioned above. I use Golden for tot lots and park picking. But if i want to go deep, I grab the Explorer II. I like hunting by tones so they compliment each other perfectly.

Oh, my Vaquero rocked at finding small lead shot less than 1 grain in all metal mode! I have found some deep stuff as well with my Vaq, just not much of the higher conductivity metal stuff. I was just saying as far as the technology, the Etrac is much more advanced and versatile. They both have their place.
