Tesoro’s Tiger Shark coil cover question

I was getting ready to go on a hunt, and decided to take off the 8” coil cover to clean under it. It was a little tough to remove it, and there was moisture on the cover. I wiper out the moisture and small amount of fine sand, then put the cover back on the coil. After about ten minutes of swinging, the cover fell off. I put it back on, making sure it was on tight in the center and the perimeter, but shortly thereafter it fell off again.

I left it off and finished my hunt, and now want to put the cover back on so it will stay on. I’ve googled this, but can’t find anything about it. Any ideas? Was that water inside the cover or some sort of other liquid that created a suction seal?

An easy fix is to put a wrap of vinyl tape at two or three points around the coil once the cover is on. They'll hold it securely, but can easily be removed for future cleaning.

I have a sand shark and just cut two lengths of double sided Velcro and looped them through
The hole in the center and wrapped them around each side.
It is easily removed for cleaning the coil and cover.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m still curious why it stayed on before removing it to clean under it like suggested by all the manufacturers who sell coil covers.

I’ve been reading about coil covers, and I think I’ll just buy some two part epoxy and coat the bottom of the coil with that, and not be concerned with anything between the cover and the coil to mess things up.

Two sided tape works great for just such problems.. It also allows you to remove the coil for cleaning when needed.

I have this issue with some of my older 8" donuts like on my Cutlass umax and even my bandido II micromax. I chalked it up to just being old and after all the years of expanding and contracting, it just became loose. The tape idea will work very well. I just put a square on each side (4 pieces.) It holds well

I had the same problem and now just hunt without it. Coil itself seems to be quite rugged
