Terra 70 gold rings ?

On the 70 what number would U say most of your gold rings fall in under. If U know could U give me your best guess of the top three.
I found a very thin white gold band that hit on 3. Thought it was a tiny piece of foil but dug it anyway and a ring pops out.

Thanks for your help..

Jerry

Jerry, Understand that gold rings will register all over the chart. Their TID will depend on the gold composition, alloy mix, size, shape and even the mineralization of the site you find them in. (e.g. dirt vs sand) Even the amount of wear will affect the TID. As a rule of thumb, on similarly sized and shaped rings, I find yellow gold usually reads higher than white gold. Platinum reads lower than white gold.

I will repost a pic of some of the rings I have found, along with the X-70 readings I get with them. You will see that there is no definitive group of notch segments you can concentrate on. If you are hunting for jewelry, by best advice is to run in all metal and dig those targets that provide consistency. HH Randy

for anyone hunting gold. I am surprised by the upward trend on the ID numbers though. And I see you didn't have any single digit targets. Were you trying to show the upper ID's on purpose and didn't post the lower ID's ?

After a while, we start thinking that yellow gold is always going to be around a nickel or lower side of pull tabs. My post is intended to show that they can be found anywhere. I hunt in all metal and listen for consistent tones. To be honest, at some sites, I won't know what it is until I dig it. HH Randy
