Hi I have just booked a holiday in tenerife , Costa Adege ?? for the Wifeys 29th ( + 31 ) !!!!! :punch: can any one tell me how good the hunting is there , :detecting:?? I have been told that the volcanic black sand makes it almost un detectable ?? :nopity: some say that a surfmaster is the only machine that works there and others say no way ----------use the Mk2 excalibur ??:wiggle: This is new ground to me as I normally detected for 4 months a year in Majorca but I just dont know what to expect and what machine to take over ? :confused:Surfy ? Excalibur MK 1 or 2 , or SE or shall I take the full box of toys ??? !!! ??? any gizmo advice or beaches to avoid or target would be well received ??? :clapping: many thanks Tony :ukflag:

hi tony been to tenerife a few times sov g.t. does,nt really like the dry/damp sand,i find that in the wet sand it works pretty good, but nowhere near as good as majorca, does,nt seem to get the same depth,i ended up using it in all metal but you know the problems with the small cents ,i never took my whites but i have used it on other volcanic beaches in the canaries +it works great[same problem though the rusty brown ones]the beaches in the north are virtually black sand the minelab won,t touch them[puerto de la cruz area]i would think that the whites should work there.p.s. i met you in santa ponsa in early nov,i was with an older guy+i was using a sov .g.t.+15wot,talked to you for 10 mins.you will find there are some serious spanish people searching the beaches there ,i have met them they go out at nt a bit +2 of them had excals, but they are friendly not like another spanish guy who OWNS the beach i go to he has threatened to shoot me,not been on here for a long time ,keep in touch alun
