Your another one I would love set by a campfireI bought my first two detectors (Compass & Whites) in 1975--48 yrs. ago.----I'm pushing 85 yrs. young now & still absolutely loving the hobby.----My wife loves the hobby just as much as I do & we still hunt together all the time.----I'm not saying how old she is---but she's 4 yrs. younger than I.
I cannot remember how long however I started with a broom handle and a 1 pound magnet the the end .That was before1266x and the 1265x.Any Old Timers out there have 50 years into it,

Over the years--my wife & I have detected & made finds in every state in the U.S. (lower forty eight)--except the very NE.-----I had a guy tell me once "that's where all the good finds are".Your another one I would love set by a campfire
