Tell me some good things about a Cibola!

I have a used one on the way. Haven't owned a Tesoro since the Toltec 100 came out.. It was not a good fit for me , so I avoided Tesoro since then.. Time to give em a try again.
I like the idea of a 2 lb detector. Sounds like they get good depth. I plan on hitting the parks, beaches and old home sites , to see how it works out for me. TIA

In the right soil they are hard to beat, I had one and had to trade up to a Vaquero due to my dirt. I liked the weight of them you can swing them all day long without your arm being fatigued!! I am now using a Compadre and just got a Tejon for relic hunting. Tesoros are great detectors and easy on the wallet to boot. As far as setting up your Cibola it's a breeze adjust your threshold in all metal and flip to disc mode I always set mine just below the foil mark for coin and jewelry hunting and start hunting.

I have mostly red clay in my area.

Bugg , I found this map . Maybe it will help to find out how heavy your soil mineralization is. http://www.hollandsbrook.com/blog-resources/iron-content-in-soil-united-states.pdf

I don't have one, so I can not help you... KEN

I can tell you this much. I have walked behind a guy in ocean city maryland swinging a cibola while the guy 20 yards infront of me was swinging a soverign gt and I picked up everything he missed as far as coins go and I have yet to find 2 quarters with any other detector at 15 and 18'' like I did with the cibola in dry to wet sand. The vaquero will do it no doubt as it has ground ballance but the cibola was running hot that day and It took home $13.0 in clad that weekend.

My 1st Tesoro is the Cibola.
Got me away from using the display of other detectors to much (i.e. Whites 6000 Di Pro Series-2 was being used the most).

I liked it and bought other Tesoro detector models. Never an issue with any of the Tesoro's. They seem to be the most go-2 machines. (have MineLab, Whites, Garrett, Fisher).
Tesoro's - Compadre/Silver/Cibola/Vequero/Tejon/Cortes/Bandido-II. Now thinking about adding the Compadre with the 8" coil.

Waiting for triple digit temps to get out, get some rain and prep the soild better. I'll really get the itch then. I hang on to the Cibola but mostly let taggers use it as between it and the Vaquero, I really prefer the manual GB.... but I also seem to use the Compadre so much as it just works.

I owned a cibola , I will only tell you the good things as you asked , I loved the 8x9 coil it pinpointed great and was light loved the sound of the detector and it had good depth quality build, very quality and easy to use and set up
