Thanks Elton for asking.

Temperatures are finally decent but the ground still frozen down to 2 inches.
Will try out next few days and see how it goes.
Being off for so long its like learning detecting all over again:laugh:

The probes are actually the most used part of the detecting process. Once tha detector is turned on...that's it...you just hunt and it many times don't even hit another buton the rest of the day except for pinpointing.
The probe though is a different story. It's clicked on a zillion times...off a zillion times...clicked off of the probe mount many times...then back on the probe clips many times throughout the day..
Sometimes they just simply develop a short...which is what mine has done. Mine may be okay for a few days...but then the short will scre up things for a short while...then be okay again for a few days.

Sometimes when I go to put the probe back onto the probe mount after using it...when it "snaps" back on...the bump shorts everything out.

Saturday my SE didn't turn back on the first 2 or 3 tries. It's gonna' screw me one of these days...so I just need to order a new one:wacko:

Thanks for the explaination on probe..I just wondered and now i understand perfectly..Thanks Bro.............And I am proud you consider me a team member,,Thank you.. have a great day.

Real nice finds.....
