As an avid Mark 1 detectorist for 20 + years --i am addicted to the tone id --and the target id reads good to 8" in low minerlized ground ---anyone have their opinoin of the 3 filter /4 filter units ---of all my years i have never tried the 8500b , Eagle , Condor ,9000 , --- how do they compare to the Mark 1 in sweep speed and overall performance? i am thinking about the Eagle --dont know if its a 3 or 4 filter unit -your thoughts appreciated , rick

HI Rick,

how are you doing? I bought an classic ID from you a few years ago. I remember that it was a good deal and I love the machine...

Best regards, Eric. The Netherlands.

The Eagle is a 3-filter and the Mark 1 is a 2 filter, The Eagle does have tone ID and gets good depth.

However, The Mark 1 has a faster recovery speed, This quicker recovery speed shortens the tone eliminating the longer stretched tone as found on the Eagle.

The Eagle is a very good machine for it's time and still something fun to play with.
