Tejon's GB Nob

I just got my new Tejon today and I noticed that the gb nob on my tejon moves side to side, (kind of wobble)..I called Tesoro and they said that some gb nobs on the Tejon's does that. I have never heard of this and it just seems odd to me..Does any of your Tejon's gb nobs do the same thing? ???.

I just checked mine and it doesn't "wobble" at all. As long as the knob stays in place and ground balances correctly then I wouldn't worry about it.

Make sure the hex nut is tight under the knob. I have had to take the knob off a coulple of Tesoro's and tighten the hex nut. I am not sure but I think there are two set screws instead of one on the Tejon's ground balance knob that has to be loosened to remove the knob. The set screw/screws take a 1.5 MM size allen wrench. Steve.

If that wobble is very bad that would be unacceptable to me. I think that a detector costing as much as these do should be better than that. If I were a manufacturer of detectors and lay claim to quality
products there would be no way that I would put a part on that would show any degradation of that claim or would cause my customers to ask questions like this.
Tesoro you are better than this.

I talked to the shop i bought it from and they are sending me another one but it wont be here until next week.
I hate the situation but i am glad i got it from a place,(Detector Depot) that has excellent customer service.

My Vaquero had the same GB knob issue when it arrived. Almost seems like it was hit while in shipping? I purchased a 5.75" coil and set of headphones when I got the Vaq and the vendor packed them in the Tesoro box with the detector. I'm wondering if something bounced around inside and hit the knob to damage it?. I didn't want to hassle with sending it back or return for repair because I didn't want to lose out using it during the early spring we had. It has been more difficult to accurately ground balance lately with this 'wiggle' so I put an o-ring under it for support. Hopefully I can get the summer out of it and send it in for repair when the snow flies.

GOOD NEWS
I will have a new Tejon on my doorstep Friday..
Thank you Detector Depot and Tesoro for taking care of this....
Hey can I have your old one, lol. I know someone is going to be busy diggin alot of goodies this weekend. Enjoy that Tejon they are a great detector and alot of fun to use. Steve.

Loose hex nut under knob would surely do it..If not time to call Tesoro as if it needs replacing Tesoro's service is second to none..Heck knobs, toggles and the like wear out or may have been defective from the get-go....

You are dealing with a top notch detector sales. I purchased my Tejon from them as well and got top notch service.
I will continue doing business with them for any other detecting needs I may have in the future.
So if anyone else reading this is in the market for a new detector give Detector Depot a call, they will treat you right.
