Took the Tejon out for a road test at the schoolyard to get a feel for what it's trying to tell me. Then I figured I'd go down to the old ballpark to really dig some trash and play with the machine some more to learn. Nothing special coin wise...this was a learning trip, nothing more. I did the power balance thing at home in my yard and was impressed with my air tests on silver dime, quarter, and IH penny. Used the power balance thingy at 2 different locations in town and all seemed to go well..???? Didn't really dig anything deep...deepest was a clad quarter @ 5-6" and also dug a nice sounding target @ about 7" and it wasn't a coin but about quarter size. Some of the pennies hit real hard and were a lot deeper than I expected as I'm used to the GSII. They were only 3-4" deep but hit a lot harder with the Tejon than they would have with the GSII so I'm hopeful on this new machine. It's lighter and better balanced and I'm slowly warming up to it. I dug a lot of pulltabs and screwcaps but I dug the bulk of them on purpose to learn the Tejon language. Typical Tesoro so far and you'll dig every screwcap you come acrossed....lol Haven't found that deeper "whisper" to dig yet....so I can't comment just yet on deeper coins...still learning.
PS....that damn Smokey Bear token showed a shiny reeded edge with writing next to the rim when I first saw it in the hole. I just KNEW that I was gonna be posting a silver half for you guys on the maiden voyage....DAMN....lol Anyways...learned some today and got 40 coins.
