Tejon?

I have read a lot about them. You guys that use them do you consider them deep detectors? Some things i have read say that they are deep, others say average. Just wondering what is true. It will only be used for deep relic hunting, no coin hunting. Considering this and the At Pro. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I am on my second Tejon and I am a coin hunter and the Tejon with the 11x8 WS coil it air test on a silver dime to 11". Also the Tejon loves bullets, big and little.

I am not into relics but if I was, I would go with the Tejon.

If you take the time to learn it, the Tejon is a beast. I've made finds that my so called higher end machine called junk. You have to give it time like any detector. Most people want instant gratification and when they don't, they sell.

If you run in disc and the sensitivity up into the high end last 1/8th turn to max it will run with noise. I never ran mine in all metal so I wouldn't know if that is where you thought you may want to run for relics.

As John stated, the Tejon is a beast and will keep up with a lot of the big dogs.

Ok, thanks. Which coil would you recommend? The concentric or the dd?

Well I don't know to much about what all coils are available for the Tejon. I like the concentric coil over the WS (dd), so for what I do I run the 5.75" concentric for my small coil. The stock 9x8 is a concentric and a pretty good coil. The biggest coil I have ever used is the 11x8 WS (dd) and that is for sure the deepest coil I have and that is the one I air tested that 11" silver dime on.

So for you relic hunters I am not sure if you would want to run big or small coil. If I was to go with a new Tejon they come either with a stock 11x8 or the 9x8, I would go with the 11x8. That is what I just did when buying and new Vaquero, I went with the black color and the 11x8" coil.

Here is some air test results of coils on the F75. You will notice there is some blanks, that means I was thinking I may get that coil and never did like the 12x10. The 5x10 I had with my first Tejon and let it go when I got rid of it.
