Since your familiar with the Musketeer, one reason it handles the ground so well is that it is using a DD searchcoil.

thinking of getting the Vaq for coins or the tejon.
I know you like the Cibola but it didn't impress me to much. Very easy to use though and air testing was impressive but hunting with it-Yawnnnnnnn
