Tejon relic hunters!! I have a question!!

where you guys set your disc 1 and disc 2 for Civil War relics? I am curious. And also whats your favorite coil on your Tejon for relics? I am trying to get a 5x10" or a 12x10" widescan to use in my old mineralized red clay here in Georgia!

I'd run 1st discrim in all metal if hunting for civil war relics. Not even sure I would use 2nd unless you were just trying to check for some specific conductivity of a target.

You can do so many combinations. My approach would be something like, running disc set low, disc two set up above or around tab then you have two more check modes.Check target in disc two.Check all metal mode. There is so many combinations that you can utilize.I can not say enough about the 10x5 elliptical DD.This combo found me my first 1749 colonial coin. The 10x5 allowed me to hunt a modern trash laden site that held colonial relics. This coil would be great to start, then maybe try the bigger DD but you will not run as high of sensitivity as the smaller DD because of ground feedback. If you like relic hunting i would keep the Tejon. All serious southern relic hunters have to have one.Kind of like having a hat with the rebel flag.I do not get as much red clay on the coast of South Carolina.I have mostly perfect ground so really i can just guess what it is like with your hunting ground.

That's what I was thinking that the 5x10 would be the first dd coil to get. The Tejon I have is a hot one with the stock coil on it in my ground conditions I can run it over in the orange before getting chatter. I have got the Ground balancing figured out on it now thanks to all of your guys help!! Now if fall would hurry up and get here I'd be a happy camper. I am in the meantime getting my accesories ready and doing some research on areas that seen activity.

I have a 12x10 widescan that I like a lot. Haven't really done any real depth comparisons yet.

12 x 10 coil, with minimal discrimination. Ground balanced just SLIGHTLTY positive, and I do mean just a smidge..
