Tejon questions from a beginner to an experiencedd

is it normal to turn tejon on and take 2 min or so to get a steady hum ? i turn machine on and if hum is off get hardly any depth until it levels out , then start getting good hits.why and what does this to the machine?

only thing i could think of now is maybe it was the wireless internet.. before it was unsteady inside then i brought it outside and then it leveled out after 2 minutes or so. would it be disturbed(detector response) and take a little while to catch after being outside for a few minutes?

Are you in all metal mode? or are you in discrimination mode?

In Disc mode its a silent search, no hum or running tone unless you go over a target.
In the all metal mode you do get a threshold tone, but you have to adjust it, you should also have the same threshold tone in pinpoint mode.

Is it giving you the correct multiple beeps for your battery test when you turn it on?

It was in all metal mode. This morning I turn it on outside and no issues . Batteries were new. So its probably EMI
