Tejon question

A

Just traded my Cortes for a Tejon, and was wondering how Tejon users set up their Disc/Alt. Disc. settings. I guess I'm not sure of the full purpose of the dual discrimination. Any help would be appreciated.

J.,
It really depends on how you want to hunt.
I usually set the primary to low foil and the 2nd to tabs. I can then check the signal for high conductivity.
As long as I am not too tired or lazy, I dig all signals from the primary discrim. If I get a little tired, I sometimes only dig the targets that are good on the 2nd discrim. However, when I do that, I miss out on some good jewelry and relics.

First you should adjust the both Disc to work similar.
Remove the knop of Disc 1 carefull and turn Disc 1 while moving a nickel over or under the coil. When the Nickel singal disappears stop turning Disc 1.
Now reinstall the knop showing to 5c on the disc scale.Fasten the knop.Do the same with Alt Disc.
Now set Disc 1 a little bit under 5c and Alt Disc at 5c.Go in the park and find a signal.Activate Alt disc by pushing the switch.Signal is gone? It's a Nickel most of the times.Signal still there?Go to the next signal.....
I found 4 Nickels in 30 minutes that way.
