Tejon Question

Hi folks, I have a question about the tone dial on the Tejon. I see that is labeled VCO, is there a "click" when you turn the tone dial ccw like an on/off switch or does it just turn ccw like the threshold dial does with no click. Feel silly for asking such a question but I don't have a Tejon here yet (one in transit though). Thanks. Steve.

I found an answer to my question, Quote - Tesoro tejon metal detector very deep and sensitive to gold. ... it full anti-clockwise and it clicks into a factory pre-set with a VCO pin point Guess it pays to read sometimes, lol. Thanks again. Steve.

Hi Tex  I think that Tesoro is making a detector just for me, yup me & no one else. If you are good I might(and I say might) show you a picture of it when I get it. I'll just use the Tejon until they send it to me ;).

Hi Steve

Are you getting that new Coyote by Tesoro? I heard it only weighs 1 pound and will dig your targets for you, while sitting in a lawn chair sipping a cool one:thumbup:

I to should have one in route on monday if every thing goes well on my trade in. I can't wait I have heard about its legendary depth since it came out! I finally decided with much deliberation to give it a shot ! Will it be able to keep up with my E-trac depth wise? I guess i will find out. Don't get me wrong I love my E-trac but my shoulder does'nt. Besides their isn't anyone in my area with a tejon. And everybody and their brother has an E-trac! I always did like to be differrent.I hope some of you tejon master's can give me some pointers.

I am sure the Etrac is a great detector (something that I could never afford). I couldn't believe it, I sent a check out inside an envelope shipped on Saturday by usps priority mail just before noon and the guy I got the Tejon from send out the detector on the same day about the same time by usps priority mail and believe it or not he got the check this morning and I got the Tejon this morning. Thats super fast, shipped on Saturday and got it on Monday, thats from Florida to upstate New York. I gave the Tejon a try in my yard and was please, now to get out on a real hunt with it. Steve.

Howdy Steve

Glad you got your Tejon, never owned one but I had a Fisher 1266 years ago and liked the dual discrimination.......but I bet the Tejon and 1266 are quite a bit different. When coin hunting with my 1266, I set the primary Disc. at nickle accept and secondary Disc.at pultab reject. It worked well at finding nickles at low end and zinc and high coin on second Disc. Good hunting!

Hi Randy, there sure are many ways a person could set up the dual disc's. I probably will set the primary one on iron or alittle above and dig everything that beeps. I do like your coin setup idea, I'll give that a try. Take care buddy.

I will be getting mine tomorrow. I was wondering how deep will your tejon air test a dime? I want some type of number to compare mine to. I know a lot people say an air test means nothing. All I know is every machine I had that was hot on a air test was hot in ground! And as far as being able to afford the E-trac I decided to keep my toys and get rid of the wife!
