Tejon power balanced- now hits 7" deep dime with confidence

I was ground balanced neutral before and had to swing slow to get the 6" dime but after balancing in the negative 1/4th turn counter clockwise it hits it fine only problem is if you try to use the threshold all metal it will sound off , solution is to make two ground balance circuits one for disc and one for all metal but i like this machine , I also showed finding a 22 slug thru 3" of grass and ground in the all metal slow but to use all metal slow the Tejon must be neutral GB or it will sound off I also found a deep crusted dime using the slow AM it made a good searing perching sound and it was about 6" deep great relic machine my crow is a bother but he thinks i am looking for food .

WOW an amazing find today , A musket ball , that may not seem like much , but its in a spot i have gone over in all metal with evey detector i had . i put the Tjn in slow all metal and started scanning i found a wire about 5 " deep and then several feet away i got a nice piercing sound even 3" off the ground i dug the plug and at a measured 7" deep what i thought was a marble but it was way to heavy it was a musket ball , talk about a relic machine this thing goes off on things other detectors just plane miss. I have just pounded this spot . but this TJN really homes in on things. WOW

Nice detector Gunnar. I have always wanted to try one of those. You are a good man for taking the bird in and raising him. Now you have a fine feathered friend for life. Now you need to train him to locate surface finds for you.

I've seen several wildlife shows that say crows are not only one of the smartest birds but one of the smartest animals. Great thing you did a very lucky bird. whats the all time best Tesoro in your opinion? also is there anything in their stable now that can match oldies but goodies?

Gunnar-----Please describe the procedure of power ground balancing the Tejon for us.-----How do you power ground balance the Tejon?----Thanks

Ground balance normal then go into disc mode and ground balance turning the ground balance counter clockwise till you get noise lifting the coil and back it off. Significant depth gained.

I am making a detector delivery/swap there tomorrow and I'd be glad to meet up with you and Patsy and just give you a 'hands-on' to 'Power Balance' your Tesoro's.

It only takes a few moments and you'll have most Tesoro's (with an manual GB control) set for peak performance in the silent-search Discriminate mode.

Drop me an e-mail or give me a call. I hope to travel during the night, meet my friend about 6 to 7 for breakfast and some detector business, then ....

That's ok Monte---I understand about the power gb procedure.----I'm not feeling very good right now from an accident I had a couple of days ago.---We can get together at a different time.-----If you are coming this way--check the I-84 situation first.----We got a couple of very bad fires going on down here.----They have the freeway closed between B.C. & Ontario and are talking about they may have to also close it between B.C. and Pendleton.----Expecting high winds & lightning to ad to the problem.--------Del

D & P -OR I asked rick and then did some experimenting i found 1st get a slight threshold in all metal then ground balance neutral then turn it counter clockwise about 1/4th turn or until it starts to chatter a bit then back it off to where it is stable - and i forgot i 1st turned the gain until it was falling and turned it down to stable . I tested turning the threshold up and down up made no diff, down was worse so i just kept it at a slight hum but the all metal is not going to work when power balanced as far as my favorite tesoro i have only tried the Cebola , silver , golden, compadre, vaquero, outlaw, and now the Tejon I like the silver with a GB and now the TJN for relic hunting , I think the Tejon is even better than the Compadre at finding small things. I have a small 1/16th inch chain Jimmy gave me and its just the chain no clasp or anything on it and the Tejon hits it to 4" deep my gold tooth with a hole in it and a broken it hits to 4.5 inches and it is a hard to find thing , also i have a Gold nugget i got for 15.00 about the size af a small oat meal flake and the T hits it at 3.5 inches I don't know why i waited so long to try the T its a nice machine

Great finds, your Tejon should get deeper than that with practice.
