Hi everyone I have never hunted with a detector that had no ID or read out on the detector. A good freind of mine told me about the Tejon, but I am still leaning towards
the 705.Will the tejon go deeper than the 705 and how long does it take to get the hang of using a non read out detector because I usally do coin and jewlery hunting in
the parks,roadside parks.playgrounds,baseball areas,and old homesteds.

If you mainly do coin and jewelry hunting , I would suggest getting a Golden Umax . It is the best coin and jewelry hunter that I've ever owned . I have owned two 705's and did not care for it . I own a Etrac and a Golden Umax and the Golden is my go to machine for coin and jewelry . IMHO

I have never used the 705 but have owned and used the Xterra 30, the 305, and the 50. The 705 would have to be alot better than the others in order to be any where near as good as the Tejon. There are those that say the 705 with the high frequency coil is good but time you get the 705 and buy the extra coil you are talking lots of $$$ where as the Tejon will do it all with its stock coil. The Tejon in my opinion has just the right amount of features, the dual discrimination setup is fun to play with different settings, the ability to be able to change the vco tone is neat, and I personally like the pinpoint switch setup and location. And believe me it will find jewelry. One of Tesoro's best detectors in my opinion, and it doesn't have a meter that can lie to ya ;).

As always, detector choice is a tough and hard decision. Mostly comes down to where you hunt, what you hunt, and your preferences. No doubt they are both good detectors and in my opinion, pretty equal. The Tejon dual descrimination is fun and useful and as was stated, meters are not very accurate at depth. That being said, I had both and preferred the 705. If you get the Gold Pack edition you get the HF 5X10 coil. Tones first no matter what detector you use and then the meter to help you decide. I just always preferred meters for the extra additional information, for what it was worth.
