Tejon or MXT-which one is deeper on relics?

It really depends on the ground you're detecting in. For really good ground the answer would have to be the Tejon, but in bad ground it would be the MXT. Of course, it really depends on the level of mineralization and the type of coil you're good with. A DD coil will handle bad ground better and a smaller coil will help out in mineralized ground as well. Its really a tough one to answer without knowing what kind of ground you detect in and what your goals are.

i live in germany and mineralization is not the problem. i mostly hunt for roman, celtic and medieval coins and most sites are quite iron infested...so i guess the tejon would be the better choice?!

alex74, Tejon. Get yourself the 5.75" coil if your in heavy trash. Depth won't be as deep as the 9x8 coil but separation will pay off.

I have a Tejon and have had great success with it at old house sites full of iron nails. I was able to eliminate the nails and only dig good targets. I found a silver coin in the same hole as a nail.
