Tejon observations

Today took the Tejon out for a relic hunt put it in slow all metal , and started scanning - from time to time i would get some ground signal usually not a sound that is pointed if you know what i mean but it helps to have it as near neutral as possible and threshold just silent . but I began to get signals that i could pinpoint and had more of a sharp ness to them i then would switch over to disc 2 set at Iron and if it spit or was silent it always was Iron one thing I found out about the Tejon is it has a gift to find very small things I found a bit of very thin brass about the size of an oatmeal flake about 4" deep and switched to disc and it still came thru . did tests against the silver umax and the Tejon was alway deeper and could hit things the silver would just not sound on . so if you are looking for those stud earrings, or gold chains , or silver ones, this machine will find those thing s I am starting to think its a keeper . as it is better than my Mirage at finding small things, and better than the silver I am thinking now the tesoro 5x10 would be the best coil to get . I have heard good things about that coil

I would agree on the 5x10 and the 5.75 for really trashy areas. For open areas the new 8x11 or 10x12. I want all those coils :) when I have money available.

I have not got to spend any real time with my Tejon but have finally got caught up around the place and if we ever get any rain I'm ready.

Did got out yesterday for a short time but the ground was like concrete. Stuck with it just long enough to verify what you said about its ability to find really small stuff. The sensitivity to tiny metal is unreal.

I did dig the only silver coin I have found in my back yard a 1928 merc. When I first got the Tejon. Have hunted my yard with a lot of machines and found war nickels, wheats and two buffalo nickels but no silver.

My back yard is nail infested down to about 7" so it is tough hunting.

Hey Gunnar,
Looks like you may have found your Tesoro dream machine. There is no denying the Tejon is an excellent detector as many can attest to.
Good luck on your next hunt.

Sven I will take that good luck thank you . I have three good machines now the Mirage for mineralized ground - or just ignoring foils and hitting the good things, 2. the silver umax for some coverage and getting close to melat fences, and the Tejon for finding relics and small things like eating studs and thin gold chains. I got a charger for it with 8 batteries from Costo and the charger is supreme and the batteries. lights go off when fully charged keeps the Tejon running hot , but even when they got low so that the Tejon had two beeps i still got a good signal on the 7" dime . as long as i can turn up the gain until it chatters and back off a bit i am good , and it will do that at two beeps I now have the volt meter to test them and it is very nice to know how much they put out
