Tejon Knob Question

looking for some help on how to create a little friction for the knobs on the tejon,,,went to lowes last night and got a little dizzy looking at all there rubber seals they sell,,,,,,and has anyone made their own loop support for the tejon,,,,,,,thanks in advance,,,,,

Hey Grunt,

As suggested, I got a 1.5mm allen wrench and a 1/4 inch rubber o-ring and put it on my disc 1 knob. The knob does NOT have a square side so it always goes back on the same position, it's just a smooth shaft and the allen just gets tightened to it. I don't like that.... I tried to put the knob back on in the exact same place. The knob-shaft turns so easily that when you slide the o-ring on and fiddling with the allen and knob, it moves the position of the knob. I had all common junk and coin reject/accept settings written down. These values changed when I o-ringed the knob. Took a little thought and process and guess it doesn't matter too much as long as it's not WAY off. The ring really made the knob harder to turn, in fact I think too much......and I hadn't tightened down the allen screw tight as heck and it moved on the shaft when I clicked it off all metal position. I don't know, maybe the 1/4 inch should be inside or outside dimensions and maybe there are thinner rings than I had, maybe I pushed it down too far onto the ring....... I took the ring off and put it back the way it came. If you do it, just make sure you tighten down the allen screw enuff to withstand the click on and once you're done, a nickel rejects where it should. I also checked to see if foil rejected at the right setting. When set on foil the allen screw is easier to access.. I wonder how big a piece of foil we should use for testing foil rejection as a 1 inch piece rejected differently than a larger piece or a double piece.

While hunting, we kept hitting the disc 1 knob over and over again because that's where the pinpoint button is on the Shadow!!!! I'd catch myself doing it and then notice the disc was off, again.
I'll probably put an o-ring on the disc 1 knob again if I find out if there is a thinner one or I'm not afraid to tighten down the allen without breaking something, hahaha

I ran into the same problem and I wonder If a piece of felt wouldn't work better. For setting the knob. I set it to breakup on a nickel then put it on the 5c mark.
