Tejon hunt

Finally got out today.
Kind of practicing for the relic hunt coming up this fall, so I decided to dig all signals above the foil setting that repeated, regardless of where they disc out. Most of the time I knew when I was swing over a tab, but they came up anyway.

Went with my pastor to a local school. During our hunt we did a lot of comparing machines.
He uses the whites matrix 6 and of course I use the Tejon.
He didn't dig many tabs but as you can see I did.
He used the TID for almost every decision. I don't have a screen to look at.
Close to the end of the day he had found 1-quarter, 1-dime and 1-silver war nickel and just a few tabs.
Now this is what happened to me.
Even though I was digging about everything that repeated I was trying to locate the not so loud beeps, hoping the faint beeps would be the older stuff and as you can see I deduced correctly. The mercury was the deepest find of the day at about 6". The buffalo was in a hole with a pull tab, now if I hand not dug about every thing above foil the buffalo would not have come to light.
Hunted 3 1/2 hours.
Found:
10 screw caps
21 pull tabs
1942 mercury
1923 buffalo
1946 wheat penny
8 nickels
4 dimes
1 regular penny

Hey Mark

Great report! You are right about digging the whisper signals. I've found for the most part they are the more desirable targets. You did good!

Hay Mark,

Looks like your getting in the righ frame of mind.
I haven't seen any one that seems to know how
to hunt. They get discourraged. It's like they are
trying to make their target read what they want,
instead of trying to read what the MD is telling
them. But I do know there are some good hunters
here. Their tracks are almost invisable. But I am
learning to see their signs.

HH,
