tejon for coin shooting

Comanche

New member
I have a new tejon but have not been able to use it yet (i can hardly wait). I live in North East NY, (still snow). What would you say would be the best starting place for both discriminations? With this warm weather maybe i can go out this weekend.

was setting the 1st disc to the "o" in foil and the second one right below the point where zinc pennies cut out. The settings will have to be played with. That way you cut out foil and most of the tabs, by either using the first disc and triggering to the second one. Give it a shot and see if it works for you.

You will want to check how closely your two disc dials match. Mine do not, but I checked both to see where a nickel disc out. I use just below that setting for the Alt, and the "L" in foil on the main DISC. That kills most iron nails in DISC, and sounds off anything higher than a nickel in ALT DISC.

Thats about how I set my disc. main at foil to eliminate small nails, the alt just below zinc cents - this allows me to use my finger to move the lower disc to the nickel setting and if signal falls out dig if it falls out between nickel and zinc cents it probably a tab, but if it is a sharp signal I will dig it anyway.

Great!! Thanks for all the help now if this storm would go away i could dig some. Thanks again, I will post how it worked for me.

I used to hunt with a 1260 years back. I had it adjusted so that it would just start sputtering on a medium sized gold ring and almost totally knock it out with the second. It did eliminate some tabs but still gave me a fighting chance on rings.
